Recycle your bathroom items!
Whilst many of us are regular recyclers, there is one area that often gets overlooked – the bathroom! Did you know that many of the items commonly found in the bathroom can be recycled in your household collection?
Whether you’re giving your bathroom a scrub or have come to the end of the conditioner, remember to recycle everything you can! A good tip is to have a recycling container in your bathroom so you don’t forget to recycle them!
Shampoo & conditioner, body wash and cleaning product bottles
Plastics like shampoo, bleach and cleaner bottles are all recyclable in your household collection, but are among the top 5 items that end up in rubbish bins. A recent study showed that 24% of plastic shampoo & shower gel bottles and 19% of cleaning product bottles don’t get recycled!

Toilet roll tubes and Toothpaste boxes
In Devon, the majority of recycling collections will take bathroom cardboard items, however they are often overlooked. Did you know that if everyone in the UK recycled one toothpaste box, it would save enough energy to run a fridge in over 2,000 homes for a year.
