Love Food Hate Waste Recipes
These autumn inspired recipes are full of taste and low on waste!
Roasted Tomato Soup and Smoky Bacon
This hearty soup is a fantastic way to use up leftover tomatoes. It’s also a great use of reduced, end of season tomatoes because it doesn’t matter if they are bruised or squashed.
Autumn Mess
A delicious desert made up of all the best things about autumn. It’s super quick to make, high on flavour and is a great use of fruits that are close to their end.
Spaghetti Bolognese with Crunchy Garlic Bread
Spaghetti Bolognese is a family favourite and coupled with this garlic bread is sure to be a winner.
Preserving your Fruit and Veg
In autumn many people will find themselves with a larger amount of fruit and veg than they can eat! This often leads to a lot of perfectly good food being wasted.
By preserving this food, you increase it’s shelf life, making it less likely to be thrown away. Jams and chutneys are not as hard to make as you may think and are a great way to use up fruits and veg that have gone slightly soft. Check out this recipe for quick and easy fruit jam.
Alternatively, you can freeze many fruits and vegetables, ready to use at a later date. Great for soups and smoothies!

And finally, why not try…
Leaf Printing
Autumn is well known for the big and vibrant leaves that fall off the trees. A great idea is to use these leaves to make leaf print pictures. Simply find a range of shapes, paint one side of them and press straight onto a sheet of paper. Using lots of different colours you can create some really funky artwork. Fun for kids and adults alike!
Clothes Swaps/ Swishing events
Now that the weather is starting to get cooler, many of us will be looking to change our wardrobes. This can potentially be very expensive thing to do. Why not attend a clothes swap/swishing event to lower the cost and also make sure your old clothes get a new home? Find out more about clothes swaps/swishing events here!
