Proper Job, Chagford

Proper Job sells everything from baths, crockery and clothes to garden furniture and building materials at a fraction of their original cost, meaning you not only save money but also go some way to leading a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Charity shops

Charity shops can usually take a whole range of items that are in good condition; clothing, bric-a-brac and even electricals*.

Library of Things

Library of Things are community-run services where you can borrow items that are used on an infrequent basis such as hedge trimmers, drills or sewing machines for a small fee (through membership).

There are also toy libraries where you can hire toys and more informal beach toyboxes.

Scrapstores are community enterprises that collect off-cuts and surplus materials, usually from factories and businesses, for reuse in activities such as education, play and arts and crafts.
