Reuseable Sanitary Pads

Reusable pads look similar to disposable pads/towels and normally contain multiple layers, including a waterproof layer to prevent leaks, an absorbent layer to absorb blood, and a surface layer that wicks away moisture. They fasten to underwear by using a popper. They come in many shapes and sizes, materials and patterns. You can even make your own!  When it’s time to change your pad, simply remove and rinse with water. Once rinsed, you can either wash them with your regular laundry or collect pads used over your period in a wet bag and wash them together at the end of your period.

Price: Dependent on size and material, can range from £3.30 per pad – £10. Some brands offer value packs, and these can save you money compared to buying single pads.

Lifespan: Some pads can last up to 10 years, but this is dependent on brand. Follow the manufacturers care instructions for best results and to lengthen the lifespan of your product.
