Do I live in a trial kit area?

Yes, trial kits are available across Devon. Contact us and we’ll put you in touch with your local real nappy advisor. Your advisor can arrange a one to one consultation with you at a convenient time.

Is the trial kit really free to use?

Yes, the Devon Real Nappy Project is funded by the Devon Authorities Recycling Partnership, which represents the 11 local authorities in Devon. We focus on Devon’s need to reduce the amount of rubbish we bury in landfill every year, and using real nappies helps to achieve this.

Can I change my mind?

Yes you can change your mind at any time, but we recommend you borrow the kit for one month as this gives you the opportunity to compare several different types of nappy.

What if I don’t have the time for real nappies?

Modern real nappies are convenient to use. Once you’ve got into the routine, you’ll be surprised how easy they are to use.

What happens if I can’t afford the initial cost of real nappies?

The initial cost of buying real nappies might be much less than you think. Many parents start off with a few nappies and gradually build up their collection as they go, or why not consider "pre-loved" (second hand) nappies on websites such as www.clothnappytree.com. Alternatively, your advisor will be able to advise you on how to buy nappies within your budget. If you live in Teignbridge, Torbay, South Hams or Plymouth you may be entitled to a 20% discount on your first purchase of real nappies.

Do I have to buy real nappies after using the trial kit?

No, not at all, although around 70% of parents do go on to use real nappies after borrowing a trial kit. The kit is aimed to raise awareness about the alternatives to disposable nappies and there is no obligation to buy real nappies at any stage. Many parents decide to use a mix of both real & disposable nappies.
